Create new account

MyCademic uses google accounts. In order to create a personal homepage, sign in using your Gmail account. After signing in you will be redirected to your new (and empty) homepage. Fill the page with information as described below.

Redirect from your old homepage

If you are a member of a research institution, you probably have a personal webpage in the institution website. In order to redirect from your old (and adequate - otherwise you wouldn't be here) webpage to your new webpage on MyCademic, copy paste the text below into the "index.html" file in the root directory of your old webpage.

Edit the Home tab

Personal details

Edit your personal details by selecting the "edit my profile" tab. You will be redirected to the edit page.

Upload Personal Picture

Upload your picture by pressing the "upload picture" link below the face image in your homepage.

Upload CV

Upload your cv by pressing the "upload CV" link below the "contact information" section in your homepage. Only pdf files are accepted.

Edit the Publications tab

The publication database is Bibtex based. This site provides a basic editor to manage publication lists. However, our interface is very basic (for the moment). In order to maintain exact and professional publication list it is advised to use a professional editor. For example, check out the free editor JabRef. For more information on Bibtex see http://www.bibtex.org/

Add item

There are three methods to add items to your pablication list. They are all accessible through the "add paper" tab.

  1. Add paper manually. Press the "manually add paper" link. A new window will open in which you will be required to insert the paper info. As mensioned before, the editor we provide is basic. It is advised to use a proffesional editor (JabRef, for example) and upload the bibtex entries using one of the methods below.
  2. Upload bibtex file. Choose a Bibtex file and upload it by pressing the "Upload Bibtex file" button. The papers included in the Bibtex file will be appended to the publications allready on the site.
  3. Paste bibtex entry/entries. Copy-paste a bibtex entry (or entries) into the text field below "Paste bibtex entry (or entries)" and press the "Submit Bibtex Entries" button. The papers will be appended to the publications allready on the site.

Edit item

In order to edit a paper info press the edit link next to the paper title under the "Publications" tab. As mensioned before, the editor we provide is basic. It is advised to use a proffesional editor and to upload well built entries to the site.

Delete item

In order to delete a paper press the delete link next to the paper title under the "Publications" tab. The paper will be removed from your publication page.

Export

You can export all publications as a single Bibtex file by pressing the "view all publications as bibtex" link.
